Lake Cahuilla Veterans Regional Park Dedication Ceremony Hosted by Supervisor V. Manuel Perez

The Lake Cahuilla Veterans Regional Park, located in La Quinta – California, dedication is set for Friday, May 25, 2018 at 7PM.

The dedication features a program that includes at least 18 veterans, from every branch of the military, participating in the dedication.

Veterans of the Cold War, Vietnam, Desert Storm-Desert Shield, Iraq, and Afghanistan are expected to participate in various phases of the dedication ceremony which begins at 7 PM on May 25.

Supervisor V. Manuel Perez invites our Veterans, military support organizations, valley residents, families and friends to this event as we begin the Memorial Day weekend with this tribute to our Veterans.

Students from Benjamin Franklin Elementary School in La Quinta will be on hand to sing patriotic songs to honor our Veterans . Students at Franklin have also written letters to Veterans which will be placed in a time capsule that will be buried at the monuments and reopened in 40 years.

Immediately following the ceremony is a free fireworks spectacular that promises to salute our veterans service and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The events guest speaker is Brigadier General Russell Muncy, Vice Commander, 4th Air Force .

The Coachella Valley Water District and the County of Riverside Board of Supervisors voted to rename the park to honor Veterans. The renaming was at the request of Supervisor Perez.
